Integrating LKM into Clinical Practice
Before Your Shift
Take 5 minutes for a brief loving-kindness meditation. Set an intention to offer compassion to yourself and your patients throughout the day.
Between Patients
During hand hygiene, silently repeat a loving-kindness phrase for yourself or your last patient. This transforms routine into practice.
Difficult Moments
When facing a challenging interaction, pause and silently offer yourself compassion first: “May I be at ease in this moment.”
End of Day
Before leaving, take a moment to appreciate your efforts and offer loving-kindness to all the patients and colleagues you encountered.
